Limousine Service to San Diego International Airport Private Jet Terminal

We often receive inquiries about pickups or drop offs at San Diego International Airport. We do not service San Diego International. First, we prefer not to damage our coaches with the frequent loading and unloading of luggage. Other limousine companies in San Diego with older, higher mileage limos are better suited to daily pick ups and drop offs at the airport. Second, we prefer not to pay the high fees associated with an airport limousine/taxi license. For those requiring premium transportation to and from San Diego International Airport, we recommend using one of the many black SUV car services.

Ground transportation permits required at terminals 1, 2 and the commuter terminal are not required at Signature private jet terminal and other small airports in San County. Therefore, we make exceptions. We service all small private plane airports in the greater San Diego area. Additionally, we do not serve Tijuana International Airport.

Signature terminal at San Diego International features a lounge and cafe, as well as a fitness center for travelers. Additional amenities include a nap or “snooze” room, conference room and balcony.

We recently had the pleasure of serving the Moore family, transporting them from the private jet terminal to the Holiday bowl. They watched their Iowa Hawkeyes beat the USC Trojans 49 to 24. Go Iowa!

AleSmith Brewing Company’s Hidden Tasting Room

Recently a friend asked me if I’d ever been in AleSmith’s secret bourbon barrel aged tasting room. The hair on the back of my neck tingled and my eyes opened wide. What?! AleSmith has a secret tasting room for bourbon barrel aged beers?! The answer is yes, they do. It’s tucked away and 99% percent of patrons don’t even know it’s there. The room is hidden around a corner and off to the side with a rather camouflaged door that looks more like a wall.

How to Find the Hidden Bourbon Barrel Aged Beer Tasting Room

When you walk into AleSmith’s tasting room at the new brewery (9990 AleSmith Ct in San Diego just off of MiraMar Rd.) you’ll see the beautiful brass colored columns with big glass windows behind them looking into the brewing area.

Walk halfway into the tasting room and look to your right. You’ll see a short hallway with walls that look like they’re made from old pallets. There will be an old bourbon barrel in the hall way. Look at the wall carefully and you’ll an iron handle. Walk over, grab the handle, open the door and you’re in bourbon barrel aged beer heaven.

San Diego is arguably the worlds number one craft beer city. We are a city of people that know and love craft beer. This is where you will find the true beer connoisseurs.

Kilowatt Brewing – Kearny Mesa

Kilowatt Brewing is San Diego’s newest brewery and just a few weeks old as long-time home brewers Steve Kozyk and Chris Calva decided to turn pro. Steve’s many years of experience as a lighting designer for nightclubs are put to use in Kilowatt’s space at 7576 Clairemont Mesa Blvd between Ruffner and Convoy.

The lighting makes quite an impression especially in the evening. The bar is illuminated by a video display that projects a pleasing waves of soft blue light. But this bar-top light show is programmable, so on different nights the bar might project different colors. If your not into beer, the lighting alone is worth a visit. Lighting really does set a mood.

As a craft beer enthusiast, what I find most interesting about Kilowatt is its size and newness. If you are interested in what it takes to start a nano-brewery from scratch, these guys have done it very recently. At most breweries, you don’t get closer to the beer than this. The home brewer turned pro brewmaster, Chris Calva can be found serving up his pride-and-joy from behind the bar nightly. All the beers are quite good, but IMHO, the Vanilla French Oak Amber is a real winner.

Stop in can give these new entrepreneurs your support and get a little taste of a great new brewery. Tasters are only $1.50 each and well worth the price. If you are considering a brewery tour in San Diego, call A Plus Limos and include Kilowatt as one of your stops.

Limo Service Rental Tips

Follow these tips to ensure a worry-free special event.

Tip 1: Avoid Limousine Brokers.

Limousine brokers do not own limos. They book your order and then sell or “farm out” your job an actual limo company . Problems can be difficult to resolve when you don’t know who you’re dealing with. Who is at fault? The broker? The limo company? To whom do I complain? Is the limo company being paid enough by the broker to really care about my event? A Plus Limos NEVER brokers limo services.

Tip 2: Check Licensing, Bonding, Insurance.

All limousine companies must be licensed in their respective State and bonded or insured by a private insurer. You can see a copy of our license here. Typically, you can check the State’s website to verify license and insurance status. Here is the link to California’s PUC which regulates limo services.

Tip 3: Ask For A Drug Screening Certificate.

Many States, including the State of California require commercial drivers and chauffeurs submit to random drug testing. The private testing company issues a certificate when a limo company participates in the program. Ask to see the certification. You can see a copy of our certification here.

Tip 4: Ask To See Your Specific Limo.

As I stated earlier in this article, limo brokers do not own any limos at all. True limousine companies typically own between 1 and 4 limos. Most limo companies broker out jobs when their own limousines are booked or when you request a specific type of limo they do not own. Some limo companies have beautiful photos of new limos on their website. Unfortunately, many times these limos do not exist in their fleet. Ask to see your exact limo before you book to ensure you are getting a clean, well-maintained, luxurious and comfortable limousine.

Tip 5: Don’t Let Price Be Your Determining Factor.

There’s a wide range of quality in the limo services business. Bargain limo companies buy our old limos when we determine they no longer meet our standards for luxury. Limousine service is not the place where you should to try to save money.

Tip 6: Get A Written Limo Rental Agreement.

Your written contract should include:
a) Cost per hour(e.g. $100 per hour) or for group of hours(e.g., 6 hours for $500)
b) Approximate number of service hours
c) Cost for each additional hour of overtime
d) Is a deposit required to book? How much? Is my deposit refundable?
e) Does this rate include chauffeurs tip? Am I expected to tip? At what percentage?
f) Pick up time and address
g) Destination address and approximate time of arrival
h) Special service requirements such as assisting disabled passengers, business signage, decorations,etc.

We would also like to suggest you include in your contract:

1) License plate number of specific hired limousines
2) Limousine service will not broker or “farm out” your job unless there is an unavoidable event, i.e., the limo you selected was recently damaged or experienced mechanical failure.
