Limo Bus Service
Q: Do you have limo buses? Do you offer limo bus service?
A: No. We do not think so called “limo buses” are limousines. Therefore, we do not keep them in our fleet. Our Hummer and Escalade limousines hold up to 18 people. We just don’t understand the allure of limo buses.
Airport Limo Service
Q: Do you offer airport service?
A: No, we do not offer airport service. Pick ups and drop offs at San Diego International airport require frequent loading and unloading of luggage which damages our limos. If you are looking for airport service, we suggest you hire a black SUV car service.
Limo Transfer Service
Q: We need pick up and drop off at the nightclub/church/event and then another pick up and drop off later in the evening. We want to be charged only for the hours in the limo. Can you do this?
A: In the limo business, this type of service is called a “transfer.” A Plus Limos does not offer transfer services. You may be able to find another company with older limousines offering transfer services.
Q: Do you offer one way service?
A: No. One way trips are considered transfer service and we do not offer transfer service.
Disneyland Limo Service
Q: Can you take us to Disneyland and drop us off?
A: No. We understand that Disneyland is about 2 hours drive by car. However, limousines drive slower and are less nimble than a car. A limousine trip from San Diego to Disneyland requires about 2.5 hours. Additionally, the long drive back makes San Diego to Disneyland service unprofitable for us.
Advance Reservations
Q: How far in advance should I make reservations for my wedding, quinceanera or prom?
A: Saturday is the busiest day of the week in the limo service business. If you are planning an event for a Saturday, you should place a reservation 3 months in advance. During prom season, every limousine in town will certainly sell out, so don’t delay. Make your reservations ASAP.
Minimum Service Hours
Q: Do you have a required minimum hours of service?
A: Yes. Our minimum hours of service is 3 hours.
Payment – Deposit – Smoking
Q: How do I pay you? When is payment due?
A: You pay the chauffeur when he arrives at the first pick up. Please be ready because he will arrive about 15 minutes early.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: No. Because of high credit card processing fees, we accept cash only. This is one way we remain price competitive in the San Diego limo market.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Most limo companies require a 50% deposit when you make a reservation. If you cancel, you loose your deposit. We understand unforeseen circumstances sometimes happen. We require only $100 cash deposit. Therefore, if an unavoidable situation arises and you must to cancel, you lose only $100.
Q: Do you require a damage or cleaning deposit?
A: Yes. We secure a $250 cleaning deposit for excessively soiled limousine cabin up to and including vomit. Your $250 cleaning deposit will be returned promptly if the limo is returned in reasonable condition. Note: We rarely charge a cleaning fee. Historically, we charge about one cleaning fee per year.
Q: Do you allow smoking in the limo?
A: Smoking in the limousines not allowed. You may be charged a cleaning fee someone smokes in the limo. However, it is our pleasure to take you on a tour of cannabis dispensaries.
Q: Do you allow eating or food in the limos?
A: No. We do not allow eating in the limos. We don’t want to charge you for cleaning.
Gratuity – Tipping
Q: Am I expected to tip my chauffeur? How much am I expected to tip?
A: Customary gratuity is 20% of total charges. However, at A Plus Limos gratuity is included in the price you pay. When we quote you a price, that is the price you pay. No hidden fees or charges. Please be sure to see cleaning deposit, smoking and eating in the limo.
Q: Can I tip my driver if his service exceeds my expectations?
A: Yes. Customers frequently tender additional gratuity to our chauffeurs, but additional gratuity is not required.
Chauffeurs – Drivers
Q: Are your chauffeurs employees or independent contractors?
A: Our chauffeurs are employees. They are carefully selected and trained to offer the highest level of service.
Q: How will my chauffeur be dressed? What will he be wearing?
A: Your chauffeur will be wearing a pressed dark suit and tie.
Alcohol – Cannabis
Q: Do you allow alcohol in the limo?
A: Yes. Alcohol is permitted in the limousine. Alcohol is not permitted if all passengers are under the age of 21. Anyone under 21 is not permitted to consume alcohol in the limousine, even if their parent or guardian is present. The State of California regulates limousine services closely, exacting strict penalties for minors consuming alcohol in limousines. Smoking of any kind is not allowed in the limousines.
Charges – Misc.
Q: How much does it cost to rent a limo in San Diego?
A: The price varies depending on the limo, the day of the week, the time of day, if there is a high demand to a convention in town or holiday (Valentine’s Day). Generally speaking, prices range between $70 per hour and $150 per hour.
Q: Do you charge a fuel fee?
A: No. When we quote you a price there are no additional charges or hidden fees. Please be sure to see cleaning deposit, smoking and eating in the limo.
Q: Do you charge for additional stops?
A: No. When you book your limo for a set number of hours, the limo and driver are at your disposal. As an example, we frequently receive requests from wedding planners to first, pick up the groom and groomsman and deliver them to the chapel. Then, pick up the bride and bridesmaids and deliver them to the chapel. There are no additional charges for this service.
Q: Do you charge by the mile?
A: No. We to not charge by the mile or for excess mileage, within reason. We will not take you to Palomar Mountain or Borrego Springs.
Q: What if my driver is late?
A: We are never late. Well, almost never. Typically, we arrive 15 minutes early at no charge. Sometimes, because of circumstances beyond our control we may be a few minutes late. Your time is not charged until we arrive. Near the end of your service you will be credited with the time you missed at the beginning of your service.
Q: What if we go a little overtime? How do you calculate the charges?
A: We understand no one is perfect. If you are 20 minutes overtime, we charge one half hour. If you are 40 minutes overtime we will charge for the full hour.
Licensing – Bonding – Insurance
Q: Are you Licensed?
A: Yes. Are licensed by the State of California. TCP 0012740.
Q: Are you you insured or bonded?
A: Yes. We are bonded.
Child Safety Seats
Q: Do you provide child safely seats?
A: No. If your guest normally requires a safety seat you must bring a child safety seat with you and you must install it in the limousine. For insurance purposes, your chauffeur cannot assist with the child safety seat.
Complementary Beverage
Q: What amenities do you stock in the limos?
A: All our limos are stocked with soft drinks and bottled water.
