On Wednesday, January 8th 2020 we had the distinct pleasure of providing luxury transportation for a group of sophisticated young adults. Over the last several weeks these urbane teens spent Sunday afternoons learning social graces at National League of Junior Cotillions, San Diego Chapter (NLJC).

NLJC San Diego Chapter is located at the Masonic Event Center 7849 Tommy Drive San Diego, CA. 92119 in the San Carlos neighborhood. NLJC accepts young ladies and gentleman 5th to 9th grade. Lessons included manners, dining etiquette, ethics, phone courtesy, receiving lines and social education. Ballroom dancing instruction included the Waltz and Cha-Cha!

We picked up this distinguished group (including chaperones) in Del Mar. Our first stop was the beach for a few photos. Everyone was excited to achieve their latest goal. The group was well mannered, but hey they’re teenagers, so a little goofing off was welcome relief from the formality of cotillion lessons.

Our second stop was the Studio Diner located on the lot of Stu Segall Productions TV and movie studio. At Studio Diner, comfort food reins king. The place settings were simple: A fork, a spoon and a knife. At NLJC, these teens learned to comfortably navigate a nine piece table setting.

The third and final stop was De Portla Middle School for the graduation ceremony. Our senior chauffeur Robert Vega, said goodbye to this refined group but we know we’ll see them again for prom, graduation and other important life events.

Limousine Service to San Diego International Airport Private Jet Terminal

We often receive inquiries about pickups or drop offs at San Diego International Airport. We do not service San Diego International. First, we prefer not to damage our coaches with the frequent loading and unloading of luggage. Other limousine companies in San Diego with older, higher mileage limos are better suited to daily pick ups and drop offs at the airport. Second, we prefer not to pay the high fees associated with an airport limousine/taxi license. For those requiring premium transportation to and from San Diego International Airport, we recommend using one of the many black SUV car services.

Ground transportation permits required at terminals 1, 2 and the commuter terminal are not required at Signature private jet terminal and other small airports in San County. Therefore, we make exceptions. We service all small private plane airports in the greater San Diego area. Additionally, we do not serve Tijuana International Airport.

Signature terminal at San Diego International features a lounge and cafe, as well as a fitness center for travelers. Additional amenities include a nap or “snooze” room, conference room and balcony.

We recently had the pleasure of serving the Moore family, transporting them from the private jet terminal to the Holiday bowl. They watched their Iowa Hawkeyes beat the USC Trojans 49 to 24. Go Iowa!

Jennifer’s Quince – A Recent Client

Saturday, December 22 was the BIG day when Jennifer celebrated her quince and it went off without a hitch. Why did it go so smoothly? Because Jennifer’s mother Connie, contacted A Plus Limos 6 months in advance.

Connie called us in June 2019 and spoke with our General Manager Ramon Dominguez. Connie arranged to inspect the limousine and assure it met her standards of luxury. Connie brought Jennifer and Raymundo, Jennifer’s father. Together they chose the white gull-wing door Cadillac Escalade limousine. Formal, large and luxurious, the White Escalade stretch limousine makes a lasting impression at 200 inches long.

Most limo companies require 50% non-refundable deposit upon booking. When Connie heard A Plus Limousine requires only a $100 non-refundable deposit, she booked the limo immediately.

On Jennifer’s big day, our first pick up was scheduled for 3:20pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 1770 Kearny Ave. in Barrio Logan. San Diego’s best chauffeur, Mr. Robert Vega arrived 10 minutes early. Befitting the occasion, he was wearing a suit and tie.

Our white Cadillac made a slow, confident and graceful arrival while the services where still in progress. Her brilliant pearl white finish glistened in the sunlight. Understandably, friends and family were wowed by the elegant coach.

Jennifer’s friends entered the limo apprehensively but were quickly impressed by the luxurious interior and bumping 8-speaker sound system. The programmable light show took the party to the next level. Yes, it was a party on wheels!

Jennifer and her guests wanted to see San Diego from the vantage of a limousine. They traveled over the Coronado bridge and enjoyed breathtaking 360 degree views. Their journey continued to the Coronado ferry landing for a photo shoot.

The group was getting hungry and decided to refuel at their favorite hang out; Burger King at Plaza Bonita! (Hey, the are teenagers.)

Final destination; the reception at The Grand Stand hall at 4201 El Cajon Blvd.

The family opted for the 3 hour all-inclusive limousine service package. Therefore, the chauffeur’s tip was included in the price. No addition fees. (Normal and customary tip for a chauffeur is 20% of the limo rental.)

Limo Lessons Learned

Saturday is the busiest and most expensive day of the week for all entertainment services including hall rentals, catering and limousine services.
If your event will be on a high demand day such as Friday, Saturday, during prom season or a holiday like Valentine’s day you should book well in advance before all limousines are taken.

New 2017 Cadillac Escalade Limousine Build

A Plus Limos recently purchased a new 2017 Cadillace Escalade from Renick Cadillac in Fullerton, California. This coach was delivered to the limousine builder in The City of Industry, California in late May 2017.

Production is underway! The flawless, $80,000 coach was put onto a jig. A jig is a tool that keeps the body aligned and supported while it is cut into two pieces during the mid-section build. Once placed in the jig, the coach is carefully cut into two pieces!

After the coach is cut in two pieces, the mid-section is built from scratch. The frame rail extensions are welded-in on the underside. Flooring panels and sills are installed by securely welding them in. Roof sills are also installed and fastened by welds.

Several systems must be extended to the back of the coach including: fuel line from the gas tank to the engine, the driveshaft, the brake lines, the parking brake, the heater hoses and air conditioning hoses, wiring for brakes and taillights, and power to operate luxury features (TVs, sound system, light show, intercom, etc.).

Roof supports and exterior body panels are secured by welds. You can also see the rough seat frames in these photos.

A fifth “gull-wing” door has been added to the passenger compartment. This feature adds beauty, functionality and sophistication. Customers love the gull-wing door!

This unit has just emerged from the spray booth and is ready for assembly.

Final product is a beautiful and luxurious state-of-the-art high-tech limousine. This is not our coach pictured below. We took a photo when this fresh unit rolled off the production line.
